nvestSmart Vermont is a comprehensive program to improve consumer's knowledge of investing concepts and make them less susceptible to financial abuse and fraud. We will do this by developing and conducting seminars, materials, a web site, and public service announcements. InvestSmart is a project in partnership with Castleton State College's Department of Business Administration. Castleton has provided quality education to the people of Vermont since 1787 and business education for over 35 years.

To achieve our mission InvestSmart
Vermont will:

Develop and Conduct Investor Protection Education Seminars
The seminars will be developed and presented by Castleton Business Administration faculty and BISHCA administrators. They are knowledgeable in their fields and experienced educators. Other experts from outside the Castleton community may also be used as presenters, as appropriate.

Produce and Distribute Written InvestSmart Vermont Materials
These will be distributed to Rutland area consumers who request materials or attend workshops. The materials will include investor education information tailored to each workshop.

Develop, Launch and Host Investor Education Web Site
This web site will provide up to date information about seminars and links to other sources for investing information.

Produce and Disseminate Public Service Announcements
Cable TV, radio, and print advertisements will be created to advertise the seminars and also to educate consumers about fraud and safe investing practices.
